Unit 3 will not be joining the strike today.

Members of the unit sent their tentative agreement on to the full membership this evening, which means a full ratification vote will take place, according to Twitter reports.

Students will continue to walk to campus from the bus stops relocated for Unit 1’s ongoing strike. Throughout the day TA picketers began to demonstrate at UTM.

Unit 3’s bargaining team and the university reached their tentative agreement at 2:30 a.m. on February 18.

The unit of CUPE 3902, representing staff hired under contracts of less than one year, including sessional professors, will now open the vote on the agreement to its entire membership.

If that vote fails, Unit 3 will be on legal strike.

York’s CUPE 3903, a local of the same union, is also on strike as of tomorrow. The campus has suspended classes, exams, and other academic activities.
