UTMSU has announced the departure of its executive director and services manager, effective next month.
In a memo released Thursday evening, UTMSU president Nour Alideeb wrote that UTMSU executive director Walied Khogali and services manager Nausheen Adam had accepted other positions and would be leaving UTMSU.
The email was sent to members of university administration, UTSU, UTMSU, and campus media, among others.
According to the memo, Khogali will be moving on to the nonprofit sector in Toronto, effectively leaving his position at UTMSU as of August 19. Adam will be leaving her position on August 11 to join the for-profit sector.
Alideeb expressed her gratitude to Khogali and Adam for their contributions to the union.
“We will miss both Mr. Khogali and Ms. Adam. We look forward to their advice and support as UTMSU alumni and former student representatives as well as UTMSU staff,” she said.
The Medium is following up with Khogali and Adam for comment.
