Francisco Luis, a professor from UTM’s Department of Historical Studies, has left the University of Toronto for unknown reasons.
In a statement provided to The Medium on last Wednesday, Jane Stirling, UTM’s marketing and communications director, confirmed Luis’ departure.
“The matter you refer to was addressed in the courts and Mr. Luis is no longer associated with the university,” said Stirling. “Students were provided with appropriate supports as needed.”
It is currently unclear the cause for both Luis’ departure from the university, and the court case mentioned by Stirling. It is also unknown when Luis departed from his role.
