Reward yourself and have fun throughout the process. You are setting yourself up for failure if you make goals that are unrealistic. Changes require patience and persistence—setting out aggressive goals will only make you frustrated and you will give up in the end.

Rewarding yourself and having fun with your workouts is a key factor. Fitness is a long process. If you feel miserable and dread going to the gym, you will most likely not succeed in your goals. Finding activities that you enjoy, or working out with another person, will help you reach your short-term and long-term goals.

For instance, if you like playing basketball or soccer, you can use these sports as a source of cardio. If dieting is also a part of your goal and you hate green beans, find alternative healthy foods to eat, such as broccoli or cauliflower. The overall point is to have fun with your fitness journey and be consistent throughout the process.
