CUPE 3902 and the university reached a tentative agreement on February 24, postponing the possibility of a strike.

The details of the agreement were presented to members of the union at a meeting on Friday night. Attendees voted to send the agreement to ratification. Polls opened after the meeting and will reopen on all three campuses on Tuesday and Wednesday. Polling stations at UTM will be set up at the Meeting Place in the Davis Building from 10 am to 2 pm.

There are no plans to strike pending the results.

The union represents teaching assistants, sessional instructors, and invigilators at the University of Toronto. After several months of unsuccessful bargaining, members of the union voted in November in favour of a strike. The conciliation process began in January and members of the union agreed that they would prepare to strike if a settlement was not reached by February 24.
